This year’s prestigious Family Feud Award is shared between the Mahon Family, which had the highest average point total, and the Riddles because – previously unbeknownst to Pool Organizers – Jane Pulliam Riddle was herself a winner of the inaugural Leo G. Hershberger Award! Kudos to Jane for her heretofore unappreciated basketball talents, plus her truly impressive ability to keep a secret! Veteran pool participants may recall this is not the first time the tie-breaking trivia question was coincidentally connected to a pool participant. The first ever tie-breaking trivia question (long before the internet) asked the full name of the Professor on Gilligan’s Island. Unbeknownst to Pool Organizers, Homer Huffman (father to Shari, Steve, and Sandy, and grandfather to Sam) was a Gerard College classmate of the actor Russell Johnson who played the Professor! Pool organizers cannot wait to see what other hidden secrets are revealed by future trivia questions! Thanks also to the Bedrick, Booth, Borgenine, Bradley, Catlett, Crowley, Dauer, Dorneman, Fields, Fottrell, Huffman, Illuch, King, Kleski, Kremer, Larson, Lightner, Lesher, Mainwaring, Meagher, Mearns, Proctor, Pyndell, Reinhardt, Riley, Shawler, Strader, Walton, Washington, Weissend, Vikara, and Wysong families for their spirited entries in this year’s pool.
