It isn't that the Meaghers can't win, Stephano; it's that they specialize in predicting the upsets. They have also specialized in submitting generally lousy pools, some even rancid. If pool organizers would ever come into the 21st century with PayPal and sabermetrics, you would see that the Meaghers are responsible for more incorrect predictions over the years than any other family in Garwomen pool history. (Although if Matt Bradley counted as a family, we'd have a race to the bottom on our hands.)
